Donald Roy Avery, 69, of Calera died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Demopolis.  He was born on Saturday, September 13, 1941, in Jefferson County, the son of the late Tom Avery and the late Louise Sundberg Avery. He was a sales representative.

Surviving are his wife, Jenny Avery of Calera; daughter, JiJi Lawley (Morgan) of Montevallo; son, Heath Avery (Wendy) of Calera; four grandchildren, Chet Avery of Calera, Carley Avery of Calera, Avery Lawley of Montevallo and Carter Lawley of Montevallo.

Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services were held Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Erickson officiating. Interment followed in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Jemison. Martin Funeral Home directed.
