Spain Park High School rising senior Mikey White is making the most of a two-week trip to North Carolina this summer.

White, who earned a spot on the USA Baseball team trial roster after his performance in the Tournament of Stars last week in Cary, N.C., shined in his first doubleheader in the USA Baseball 18-and-under team trials June 29.

White finished 3-for-6 at the plate and scored one run in his first two games as a member of the Blue team, which split a doubleheader with the Red team.

White is trying out for the 18-and-under USA Baseball team, which will face off with the USA Baseball Collegiate National team in the first-ever Prospect Classic on July 1-2. The Prospect Classic games will be televised on a tape-delayed basis July 2-3 on the MLB Network.
