Former Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer standout Chandler Hoffman, a junior forward at UCLA, was recently selected to the 2011 United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League All-League and All-Western Conference teams after ranking second in the league in scoring and assists and third in goals scored.

Hoffman is also one of three finalists for the league’s Player of the Year award.

Hoffman, who played for the Orange County Blue Star, tallied 36 points in 13 games for a league-best 2.77 points per game average. He averaged a goal per game with 13 total and added a total of 10 assists.

Hoffman and the Bruins begin the 2011 season on Aug. 27 at Louisville in a rematch of the two teams’ NCAA quarterfinal match of a year ago.

The all-league and all-conference teams were selected through a vote of team management.
