$20 on 20 to help county citizens save

The Shelby County Reporter is hoping county citizens, fresh off the tax-free holiday weekend, are ready to continue saving with the $20 on 20 promotion.

The Shelby County Reporter is working with local businesses to offer special deals on Saturday, Aug. 20.

Local businesses will offer either special deals for $20, or 20 percent off certain items. You’ll be able to find these offers inside the Aug. 20 edition of the Shelby County Reporter.

This promotion has the potential to make a huge difference in our county’s economy.

There are nearly 200,000 residents in Shelby County. If each resident spends $20 on Aug. 20, that would push $3.9 million into the local economy. Imagine what your $20 could help do — support schools and emergency services, build local parks and help improve our roads.

The last time we offered the $20 on 20 campaign, it was a huge success. Many merchants said the promotion made a noticeable difference in the traffic they had in their business that day, and one business owner in particular said she had to call in extra staff to meet the demand.

We hope this year’s version will meet the same standards. Our goal, as is our goal with all our products and promotions, is to offer you the best value we can. Have fun looking through the possibilities on Aug. 20!
