Briarwood Christian falls in tournament quarterfinals

The Briarwood Christian School volleyball team fell in the quarterfinals of its Serve Off tournament Aug. 20.

The Lions fell to Mountain Brook 14-25, 19-25 in the Gold Division tournament quarterfinals.

Logan Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian (3-3) with five kills in the match. Nasworthy also recorded three digs.

Lauren Palmer and Carly Cline added two digs each. Hope Donohue led the Lions with nine digs. Lizzie Baumbach added seven digs.

Briarwood Christian defeated Spanish Fort 25-21, 25-15 to reach the quarterfinals.

Nasworthy and Palmer finished with seven kills each in the win. Nasworthy added six digs and five service aces.

Madison Chambers added three kills. Donohue led the Lions with nine digs.

The Lions defeated Alexandria in a pool play match Aug. 20.

Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian with nine kills, seven digs and four service aces.

Chambers and Palmer added three kills each.

The Lions defeated McAdory 25-22, 25-20 in a pool play match Aug. 19.

Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian with seven kills and five digs.

Carly Cline added eight service aces and two digs. Donohue finished with three service aces and two digs.

Briarwood Christian opened the tournament Aug. 19 with a 17-25, 21-25 loss to Boaz.

Nasworthy led the Lions with six kills and three digs.
