Pelham sweeps Parkway Christian, Altamont

The Pelham High School volleyball team swept Parkway Christian Academy and Altamont in high school volleyball action Aug. 30.

The Panthers (10-7) defeated Parkway Christian 25-22, 25-21 in their opening match.

Senior Dana Allen led Pelham with eight kills in the victory. Allen added three service aces and nine digs in the match.

Senior Ashley Kate Kepler and sophomore Caitland Smith added six kills each. Smith also recorded two blocks.

Junior Haeden Tucker and senior Sydney Days finished with two service aces each. Days also registered a team-high 24 assists.

Junior Katy Gustafson finished with nine digs. Senior Porsha Tolbert recorded two blocks.

Pelham defeated Altamont 25-21, 22-25, 15-7 in its second match.

Smith led the Panthers with six kills and three blocks in the victory. Kepler added four kills in the match.

Sophomore Alison El-Feraly recorded two service aces. Junior Bradleigh Smith finished with two blocks.

Days, who finished with seven assists, and Gustafson recorded seven digs each. Tucker registered a team-high eight assists.
