FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Shelby County Emergency Management Agency will test sirens Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the regular monthly test time of 10 a.m.

New siren software is being implemented to update the system, so residents could hear sirens go off multiple times.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, but this process is necessary as we begin our transition into using a polygon-based system for automatic siren activation,” Shelby County’s EMA Director Jeff Edwards wrote in a press release.”
