The Briarwood Christian School Lions remained undefeated following a 28-7 victory over Center Point in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Region 7 contest Sept. 9.

Five different players accounted for touchdowns in the victory.

Senior quarterback Ben Craft completed 7-of-15 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

David Hodges opened the scoring for the Lions with his 10-yard touchdown run with 5:57 left in the opening quarter. Zak Bekken added the extra point to give the Lions an early 7-0 lead.

Craft completed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Robert midway through the second quarter and Bekken added the extra point to give the Lions a 14-0 advantage.

Matthew Furuto rushed for a 5-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter to give Briarwood a 21-0 lead following Bekken’s extra point.

Following a Center Point touchdown, Craft threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Furuto at the start of the fourth quarter. Bekken’s extra point gave the Lions a 28-7 lead and capped the scoring in the game for Briarwood.
