The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team dominated possession and held Christian Brothers University to just two shots on goal in a match Sept. 16, but it was not enough as the Buccaneers scored the lone goal of the contest to down the Falcons 1-0.

The Falcons (2-4) outshot the Bucs 17-6 and had eight shots on goal compared to Christian Brother’s two.

Montevallo had a number of offensive opportunities but the Falcons were never able to put the ball into the net.

Sophomore Taylor Knerr led the Falcons with four shots including a pair on goal, while freshman Aimee Godfrey had three shots all of which were on goal.

Christian Brother’s goalkeeper Robyn Wade made eight saves in the shutout. The Buccaneers’ lone goal came from Allison Tutt who scored at the 26:36 mark on a cross from Alex Bickenbach.

Sophomore Kaitlin Thomas took home the loss in goal as she made one save.

The Falcons will be back in action Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. as they travel to Georgia College for a Peach Belt Conference contest.
