Lions fall to host in Brooks Invitational

The Briarwood Christian School volleyball team fell to host Brooks in tournament play Sept. 17 at the Brooks Invitational.

The Lions fell to Brooks 15-25, 19-25, 10-15 in the tournament.

Logan Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian with eight kills in the match. Nasworthy added three digs, one service ace and two assists.

Carly Cline, who had three digs, and Madison Chambers posted three kills each. Kayla Crumpler added two kills. Adeline Reiser, who had a team-high 15 assists, and Kelly Bemis finished with  one kill each.

Lizzie Baumbach posted a team-high six digs.

Briarwood Christian defeated West Morgan 25-15, 25-9 in a pool play match.

Nasworthy led the Lions with six kills. Lauren Palmer and Georgia Muir-Taylor added four kills each. Chambers finished with two kills.

Hope Donohue registered a team-high six digs. Reiser posted a team-high 12 assists.

The Lions topped Central-Florence 25-21, 23-25, 15-11 in a pool play  match.

Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian with 16 kills. Palmer added 11 kills. Chambers posted six kills, while Muir-Taylor, Reiser and Cline finished with two kills each.

Reiser led the Lions with 34 assists. Baumbach posted a team-high 10 digs.

The Lions defeated Athens 25-23, 17-25, 15-11 in a pool play match.

Nasworthy led Briarwood Christian with 12 kills. Palmer added four kills. Chambers and Cline posted two kills each, while Crumpler finished with one kill.

Baumbach had a team-high five digs and Reiser finished with a team-high 17 assists.

The Lions fell to Lexington 15-25, 9-25 in a pool play match.

Nasworthy, Palmer and Chambers led Briarwood Christian with four kills each.

Cline and Baumbach posted five digs each. Reiser compiled a team-high 13 assists.
