The Pelham High School volleyball team fell to Bob Jones in the Over The Mountain tournament quarterfinals Sept. 24 at Hoover High School.

The Panthers won three out of four pool play matches before falling to the Patriots 23-25, 18-25 in the quarterfinals.

Pelham defeated Austin 25-10, 25-20 in its opening pool play match before defeating Southside 25-7, 25-9. Following a 20-25, 14-25 loss to McGill-Toolen, the Panthers closed pool play with a 25-10, 25-20 win over Houston High School of Germantown, Tenn.

Senior Dana Allen led the Panthers (26-14) with 28 kills during the tournament. Allen also recorded 24 digs, nine service aces and two blocks combined in the five matches.

Senior Porsha Tolbert registered 16 kills and 30 digs for the Panthers. Sophomore Alexis Veal contributed 31 digs and eight service aces.

Senior Sydney Days finished with three blocks and a team-high 84 assists in the tournament.
