Montevallo men’s golf competes at Jay Jennison Memorial

The University of Montevallo men’s golf team competed at the Jay Jennison Memorial tournament Sept. 26-27 at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine, Fla.
The Falcons finished 15th in the tournament, which was hosted by Flagler College. Montevallo carded a team score of 75-over par 939. The Falcons collectively shot a 314 in the first round, a 313 in the second round and a 312 in the third and final round.
Andrew Lowry led Montevallo after carding a three-round total of 16-over par 232, including a 2-over par 74 in the opening round. Lowry finished in a two-way tie for 42nd overall in individual standings.
Joe Haupt finished in a three-way tie for 53rd overall in individual standings after posting a 19-over par 235 in the tournament. Mariano Lepori finished one stroke behind Haupt in a four-way tie for 56th overall in individual standings with his 20-over par 236.
Ruwaldt Viljoen finished in a two-way tie for 71st overall in individual standings with his 25-over par 241. Gonzalo Gambertoglio finished one stroke behind Viljoen with his 26-over par 242, which placed him 73rd overall in individual standings.
