Hornets fall to Pinson Valley

Chelsea High School fell to Pinson Valley 35-28 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A, Region 5 contest Sept. 30.

Austin Washington gave the Hornets an early lead with his 29-yard touchdown reception from Jake Ganus in the first quarter. Martindale’s extra point gave Chelsea a 7-0 lead.

Keelan Gregg reeled in a 2-yard touchdown pass from Ganus late in the second quarter. Ganus scored on a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Pinson Valley scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Ganus scored on an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Hornets’ lone touchdown in the quarter.
