Montevallo men’s golf team closes fall schedule at LMU Invitational

The University of Montevallo men’s golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2011-2012 schedule with a top-10 finish at the Lincoln Memorial University Invitational tournament Oct. 18 at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.
The Falcons carded a team score of 32-over par 608, which placed Montevallo 10th out of 16 teams in the field and 29 strokes behind tournament winner King College.
Freshman Jared Ebert led the Falcons with his two-round score of 3-over par 147, which placed him 10 strokes behind tournament winner Kim Koivu of Brevard College. Ebert finished in a four-way tie for 11th overall in individual standings.
Ebert carded an even par 72 in the opening round Oct. 17 before firing a 3-over par 75 in the final round Oct. 18.
Sophomore Joe Haupt finished with a two-round score of 8-over par 152, which placed him in a nine-way tie for 36th overall in individual standings. Junior Andrew Lowery finished in a six-way tie for 47th overall in individual standings with a two-round score of 10-over par 154.
Junior Mariano Lepori finished with a two-round score of 13-over par 157, which placed him in a two-way tie for 59th overall in individual standings. Senior Gonzalo Gambertoglio finished one stroke behind Lepori with his two-round score of 14-over par 158, which placed him in a four-way tie for 61st overall in individual standings.
Senior Ruwaldt Viljoen rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers as he finished in a three-way tie for 79th overall in individual standings with his two-round score of 22-over par 166.
