FROM STAFF REPORTS

The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team is ranked fourth in the most recent U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region poll.

The Falcons defeated the third-ranked team in the poll, Mount Olive College, last weekend at the Queens University of Charlotte Royal Cross Country Challenge. Montevallo is the highest ranked Peach Belt Conference team in the poll.

The Falcons are one of just three Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the poll. Peach Belt Conference foe UNC-Pembroke is ranked seventh, while Augusta State University is ranked eighth. The top-ranked team in the poll is Queens.

The top-two teams at the NCAA Southeast Region Championship automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. The Falcons return to action this Saturday as they travel to Aiken, S.C. for the Peach Belt Conference Championships.
