Panthers end season with loss to Huntsville

The Pelham High School volleyball team faced a tough task with a road trip to two-time defending Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A champion Huntsville in a sub-state match Oct. 20.
The two-time defending champions were too much for the Panthers to overcome in a 18-25, 12-25, 13-25 defeat, which ended Pelham’s season one match shy of a trip to the Class 6A Elite Eight.
Senior Porsha Tolbert led Pelham (39-22) with 10 kills in the match. Tolbert also recorded six digs and one service ace.
Senior Ashley Kate Kepler recorded four kills and three digs. Sophomore Caitland Smith chipped in three kills and one block. Senior Dana Allen finished with two kills and nine digs.
Sophomore Alison El-Feraly finished with five kills, two service aces and one dig. Junior Alexis Veal contributed seven digs.
Senior Sydney Days registered a team-high 12 digs and 22 assists.
