The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team was awarded four spots on the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Teams after the Falcons’ title at the Peach Belt Conference championship race Oct. 22.

Junior Haley Evans, junior Kaley Glover and sophomore In-Mi Matsunaga were each named to the first team, while freshman Lauren Recchia was named to the second team.

Evans had a tremendous Peach Belt Conference championship race as she crushed all her competition, winning the race by more than 30 seconds with a time of 23:16.66. Evans also broke the school record for a 6K race.

Glover crossed the line second for the Falcons and fifth overall with a time of 23:54.65, which ranks as the third fastest time in program history. Matsunaga came in third for the Falcons and seventh overall with a time of 24:04.73, which ranks as the sixth fastest time in program history. Recchia finished 10th with a time of 24:16.24, which ranks as the eighth fastest time at Montevallo.

As a group, the four hold eight of the top 10 fastest 5K times in school history and eight of the top 10 6K times in school history.

The top 14 finishers at the conference meet are named All-Conference, with the top seven being named first team and the next seven being named second team.

Evans was named second team All-Conference as a sophomore and first team All-Conference as a freshman. Glover was named second team All-Conference as a freshman, while Matsunaga and Recchia received the recognition for the first time.

All four along with the rest of the Falcons will be back in action Nov. 5 at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championship.
