Kingwood falls in final game of season

The Kingwood Christian School Lions finished the 2011 season at 3-8 after falling on the road Oct. 27 at Lee Scott Academy in Auburn.
The Lions fell 62-15 to the Warriors, who finished the regular season at 7-3 and are playoff bound.
Montez Haynes scored the Lions’ lone touchdown in the opening half with a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Kingwood Christian trailed 42-6 at halftime against Lee-Scott.
Gavin Sumrall tossed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Justin Pinkerton late in the fourth quarter to account for the final touchdown in the game.
Luke Edge added a 37-yard field goal.
Sumrall completed 10-of-28 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. Haynes reeled in three receptions for 42 yards. Charles Robinson rushed for 74 yards on 18 carries.
Kingwood finished the season with a 1-5 record in Alabama Independent School Association Class 3A Region 2 play.
