Falcons drop match against Armstrong Atlantic

The University of Montevallo volleyball team dropped a tight match with Armstrong Atlantic State University 3-0 in a Peach Belt Conference match Oct. 28.

The Pirates have not lost a match all season, but the Falcons weren’t intimidated as they fought in every single set before falling 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.

Sophomore Manyi Ati led the Falcons (13-14 overall, 4-7 in Peach Belt Conference) with 14 kills and three blocks while hitting .500. Freshman Michelle Walker added 12 kills, 11 digs and a pair of blocks while hitting .375.

Senior setter Anna Garrison had 33 assists and 14 digs, both of which were team highs. Senior Jessica Guidry chipped in 12 digs as well.

The Falcons as a team hit .212, while Armstrong came in just a bit better at .243.

Armstrong was led by Brendyce Budd, who had 11 kills and 12 digs.

The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. as they travel to conference foe Flagler College.
