Hoffman named to academic all-district team

Former Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer standout Chandler Hoffman, a sophomore at UCLA, was recently named to the CoSIDA NCAA Division I men’s soccer Academic All-District team, the organization announced Nov. 8.
Hoffman has had a great season for the Bruins both on and off the field.
On the field, Hoffman leads the Pac-12 Conference with 14 goals, 32 points, 0.74 goals per game and 1.68 points per game. Hoffman has started in every game this season and had his best game against No. 6 UC Santa Barbara in September, scoring three goals in the second half to lead UCLA to a 3-2 comeback win.
Off the field, Hoffman has a 3.74 grade-point average as a communication studies major and made the first-team Pac-10 All-Academic squad in 2010.
