The Pelham Police Department is investigating a robbery and assault report in the 200 block of Brookhollow Drive, which resulted in more than $400 worth of property stolen, according to police reports.

According to the department’s incident reports, the robbery and assault were reported at about 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 2. The road is off Shelby County 33 near Interstate 65 in Pelham.

According to the police report, a suspect stole a Samsung cell phone valued at $200, a brown leather wallet valued at $30, a driver’s license card valued at $30, $130 in U.S. currency and a Social Security card valued at $30.

The report listed the victim as a 24-year-old white male.

Pelham police Capt. Larry Palmer said the department is still investigating the incident, but said there is no cause for alarm elsewhere in the neighborhood.

“I think it’s going to come out that there is a common thread between the victim and the suspect. It may come out that they knew each other,” Palmer said. “We don’t believe that anyone else in the neighborhood is in danger because of this incident.”
