The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ basketball team defeated Jefferson Christian 52-45 in its season opener Nov. 8.

Jeffrey Stanford led the Knights (1-0) with 27 points in the victory. Stanford also grabbed six rebounds.

Jake Doggett recorded a double-double in the win with 14 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.

Westminster held a slim 23-21 lead at halftime and outscored Jefferson Christian 29-24 in the second half to clinch the victory.
