Hugh G. White, 80, of Montevallo passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 in Alabaster. Mr. White was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corp; a member of Underwood Baptist Church; Shelby Baptist Association, an ordained minister and deacon, and a volunteer chaplain at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. He was retired from Elastic Corporation of America after 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto White Sr. and Estelle Saxon White; sister, Evelyn Patterson; brothers, Jack, Harry, Otto Jr., W.C. “Boots” and Marvin White. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gertrude White; sons, Gary White (Patsy), Lamar White, Cary White (Wanda), all of Montevallo; four grandchildren, Ashley Graham (Brandon), Katie White (Jeremy Buse), Brianna and Jesse White; four great-grandchildren, Blaine Graham, Lillian Buse, Courtney Key and Austin Ryhal; nieces, Jerry Stewart (Art), Gail Hughes (Gene), Beth Hoggle, Connie Brogden and Debbie Horton; and great niece/nephew, Barry and Pam Hughes.

Visitation will be at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Montevallo, Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the chapel, Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev.
