The Montevallo High School boys’ basketball team defeated West Blocton 64-49 in high school basketball action Nov. 24.

Trevor Chatham led Montevallo with 21 points in the victory. Chatham also grabbed three rebounds.

Garrius Chappell finished with 19 points, four rebounds and a team-high four assists. Korey Cunningham posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

A.J. Green added six points and five boards. Landon Goodwin finished with three points and two rebounds. Cortez Williams registered two points and two boards.

GIRLS

The Montevallo High School girls’ basketball team defeated West Blocton 46-15 in high school basketball action Nov. 29.

The Bulldogs raced out to a 36-2 halftime lead and cruised to the victory over the Tigers.

Mychael Thompson led Montevallo with 10 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

Myah Farrington posted nine points. Kayla Cunningham added seven points and seven boards. Keshantis King chipped in four points and a team-high eight rebounds for Montevallo.
