Jimmy Wood, 62, of Birmingham passed away on Dec. 1, 2011. He was born on Feb. 9, 1949 in Harpersville. Jimmy was a member of North Shelby Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Leota Wood; his brother, James Wood; and sisters, Billie Shelton and Katherine Northcutt. Surviving are his wife, Sandra; daughters, Kelcei Chamberlain (Andrew) of Birmingham; Farrah Mote (Jodie) of Birmingham; and Synthia Wood Rayfield of Sylacauga; son, Johnny Green of Birmingham; grandchildren, Charles Murphy and Johnny Wood of Weogufka and Hudson Mote of Birmingham; sisters, Bobbie Alexander, Shirley Milam, Gail Royals, Diane Green and Cindy Rogers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Harpersville at 5 p.m. for family and 6 p.m. for the public. Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Harpersville. Graveside will be at Harpersville Memorial Cemetery. Charter Funeral Home directing.
