The littering in the Lay Lake area of South Shelby probably comes as no surprise.

I took several photos of the littering. Two were taken on Reed Creek Road off County Road 400, and two more were taken on a little cut-off dirt road between County Road 400 and Reed Creek Road.

Our first sighting was that of litter; now it has become a dump site.

It’s such a shame that the beautiful landscape around Lay Lake is littered by such thoughtless people.

As weekend residents, we have called the situation to the attention of Shelby County Commissioner Corley Ellis, and he is very supportive. He has promised an “anti-litter” sign to be placed on Reed Creek Road.
