FROM STAFF REPORTS

The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team was recently awarded one spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Southeast Region teams.

Senior Kristin Rosato was named to the NSCAA/adidas All-Southeast Region third team. Rosato became just the second player in Montevallo history to be named to an All-Southeast Region team since the Falcons moved to the Peach Belt Conference and the Southeast Region in 2009.

Rosato played in all 18 games for the Falcons this season and served as the team captain. Rosato was named second team All-Peach Belt Conference this past season. She led the Montevallo defense, which captured one shutout and held opponents to 1.68 goals per contest.

Rosato’s versatility allowed her to play all over the field, including starting one game at forward. She has been part of the Montevallo squad for five seasons and started since she stepped foot on campus in 2007. She holds the Montevallo record for games played in a career with 80 games under her belt.

Rosato is also a standout in the classroom, being named a Bronze Scholar on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll last season.
