The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team avenged its only loss of the season Dec. 10, beating Covenant Christian Academy of Huntsville 36-31.

Rainey Ketcham scored 21 points, and hit three 3-pointers, to lead the Lightning.  Ketcham also grabbed eight rebounds.

Lacey Entrekin added six points and a team-high 10 rebounds for Evangel Christian, which improved to 5-1 on the season.

BOYS

The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team remained undefeated Dec. 10 after topping Covenant Christian Academy of Huntsville 69-31.

Evangel Christian (7-0) was led by Adam Gurley’s 13 points.

Andrew Smedley added 12 points. Jonathan Parker and Ben Smith chipped in 10 points each. Smith added a team-high 14 rebounds, five blocks and five steals in the win.
