Edwin R. Rotenberry, age 85, of Alabaster passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011. He was a member of Wilkes Baptist Church in Midfield. Mr. Rotenberry retired from Alagasco, and he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII. He had a wonderful smile and was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hyde Rotenberry; his parents, James and Nora Rotenberry; and his brother, Ellis Rotenberry. He is survived by his son, Keith Rotenberry (Kathy); his daughter, Edwina Manderson (Bob); his grandchildren, William C. Attaway, III (Charlotte), Edwin Roy Attaway (Hannah); Bronwyn Rotenberry and Stacey Davis (Joseph); his great-grandchildren, Erin, DeLaynie, Allison and Ella Attaway; his brothers, James E. Rotenberry (Alada) and Don W. Rotenberry.

Funeral services will be held at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. with burial in Daniel Cemetery. His grandson, Pastor Edwin Roy Attaway, will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
