The Kingwood Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Hooper Academy 72-49 in high school basketball action Dec. 15.

Daniel Fillingim led the Lions with 32 points in the victory. Fillingim also grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds and finished with four steals.

Josh Purvis added 17 points and eight boards. Jacob Bussey chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.

Charles Robinson finished with four points. Tyler Harrell and Tyler Capps added two points each. John Fillingim contributed one point in the win.

GIRLS

The Kingwood Christian School girls’ basketball team fell to Hooper Academy in high school basketball action Dec. 15.

Katie Etheridge led the Lions with 17 points. Etheridge also grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Casey Whitmer added 12 points and 12 rebounds to also finish with a double-double.

Madelyn Pearce contributed five points and four rebounds. Sarah Salmon chipped in two points and two boards.

Karley Chamblee and Kenzie Greer grabbed three rebounds each.
