Jimmy Lee Gurganus, 58, a resident of Wilsonville, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel in Sylacauga with Rev. Byron White and Rev. Mike Gurganus officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. Gurganus was employed for 40 years with Alabama Power/Southern Company.

He is survived by wife, Heather Gurganus of Westover; son Brandon Gurganus (Allison) of Columbiana; daughter Brooke Grigsby (Tom) of Columbiana; mother, Edna Gurganus of Jasper; father, Clarence Gurganus (Linda) of Muscle Shoals; brothers, Mike Gurganus (Nancy) of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Lynn Gurganus (Kim) of Alabaster; and grandchildren, Tommy Grigsby, Addison Grigsby, Grant Gurganus, Hayden Gurganus, Laney Brennan and Chandler Gurganus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hope Hospice at 236 Headquarter Road, Anniston, AL 36202 or The Bruno Cancer Center, 810 St. Vincent’s Drive, Birmingham, AL 35205.
