The Chelsea High School girls’ basketball team defeated Cordova 52-22 in its opening game of its Hoops for Hope tournament Dec. 29.

Amanda Mock led the Hornets (6-6) with 20 points in the victory. Mock also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Perri Lambert added nine points, nine rebounds, six assists and six steals in the win.
