The Spain Park High School boys’ basketball team defeated Hoover 64-55 in high school basketball action Jan. 6.

Rembert Martin led the Jaguars (13-8) with a game-high 21 points in the victory. Martin also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Eric Washington added 20 points in the win. Robby Prater chipped in 13 points.

Blake Dudchock contributed six points and four rebounds. Austin Jones and Sean Taylor finished with two points each.

GIRLS

The Spain Park High School girls’ basketball team fell to rival Hoover 67-34 in high school basketball action Jan. 6.

Whitney Gulledge led the Jaguars (12-9) with 14 points. Gulledge also grabbed four rebounds.

Victoria Baldwin added nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Ashley Gaston chipped in five points and four boards.

Jessica Freeman and Kelsie Williams contributed three points and two rebounds each.

Denisha Morgan and Jasmine Moore pulled down three rebounds each. Kathryn Boswell grabbed one rebound and dished out two assists.
