Kingwood Christian School junior Jacob Bussey competed in the Marines’ Semper Fi combine in Phoenix, Ariz., earlier this month.
Bussey was one of 300 juniors to be selected to participate in the combine, which was held in conjunction with the first ever Semper Fi All-American Bowl at Chase Field.
Participants in the game, which included 100 of the top high school seniors, and the combine were selected by a panel including national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
Kingwood Christian coach Bob Spurgeon said Bussey performed well in the combine.
“(Bussey) did really well,” Spurgeon said. “It was a big thing for him and for our school.”
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect played at tight end and fullback on offense and defensive line and linebacker for the Lions this past season.
