The Calera High School girls’ basketball team defeated Oak Grove 62-35 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 8 contest Jan. 10.

A’Kia Harris led the Eagles (9-6 overall, 3-0 in Class 4A, Area 8 ) with a game-high 33 points in the victory. Harris also pulled down a team-high 22 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Tyesha Haynes added 14 points in the win.

BOYS

The Calera High School boys’ basketball team fell to Oak Grove 86-84 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 8 contest Jan. 10.

Ronnie Clark led the Eagles (16-3 overall, 2-1 in Class 4A, Area 8 ) with 30 points.

Titus Adams added 20 points. Deondre Haynes chipped in 14 points.
