No children were on a bus headed for Pelham High School the morning of Jan. 10 when it collided with a red sport-utility vehicle at the intersection of Bearden Road and Crosscreek Trail.

The minor wreck happened at about 7:30 a.m. when a Valley Elementary School bus collided with the vehicle near the high school, said Shelby County Schools spokeswoman Cindy Warner.

Warner said the bus had already dropped off the elementary school students and was traveling to the high school to refuel, Warner said.

Warner said there were no children on board when the wreck happened, and no injuries were reported.

“It was just a fender-bender,” Warner said.
