James Harvey Rochester, 85, of Montevallo passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 in Alabaster. Mr. Rochester was very involved in the community of Montevallo. He was a member of the McCoy Bible Class at Montevallo First United Methodist Church, and he was a merchant in Montevallo for 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther F. and Clara B. Rochester; brothers and sisters, J.M., Jack, Kenneth and Jimmy Rochester, Betty Jo Cottingham and Sandra Cook. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hazel Davidson Rochester; son, Joel H. Rochester (Jerrie); brother, Leldon Rochester; granddaughter, Jennifer Rochester; and grandson, Jonathan Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rick Evans, Dr. Brian Wyatt and Rev. Buddy Freeman officiating.
