The Oak Mountain High School wrestling team fell to Vestavia Hills 47-38 in high school wrestling action Jan. 18.

Six Eagles won individual matches against Vestavia Hills.

John David (J.D.) Peden of Oak Mountain pinned Nick Hernandez of Vestavia Hills in 23 seconds in the 106-pound match. Trigg Langner of Oak Mountain earned a 5-0 decision over Hayden Hill of Vestavia Hills in the 113-pound match.

Jared Godfrey of Oak Mountain earned a 14-0 major decision over Morgan Paugh of Vestavia Hills in the 126-pound match. Vincent Kimbrough of Oak Mountain pinned Jordan Johnson of Vestavia Hills in 1:45 in the 170-pound match.

Justin Woodall of Oak Mountain pinned McNeill Gardner of Vestavia Hills in 29 seconds in the 195-pound match. Billy Dasher of Oak Mountain earned a 4-1 decision over Hunter Haynes of Vestavia Hills in the heavyweight match.

Eight Rebels defeated their Oak Mountain foes in individual matches.

Will Hubert of Vestavia Hills pinned Simon Loubser of Vestavia Hills in 1:51 in the 120-pound match. Jeremy Strong of Vestavia Hills pinned Stephen Chandler of Oak Mountain in the 132-pound match.

Will Knox of Vestavia Hills earned a 4-1 decision over Angus McBee of Oak Mountain in the 138-pound match. Joe Timberlake of Vestavia Hills earned a 6-2 decision over Will Franklin of Oak Mountain in the 145-pound match.

Jimmy Witt of Vestavia Hills earned a 10-2 major decision over Jacob Darty of Oak Mountain in the 152-pound match. Jack Nelson of Vestavia Hills pinned Josh Gaines of Oak Mountain in 1:43 in the 160-pound match.

Zach Malone of Vestavia Hills earned a 7-5 decision over Evan Webb of Oak Mountain in the 182-pound match. Jahaad Jackson of Vestavia Hills pinned Lloyd Time of Oak Mountain in 2:29 in the 220-pound match.
