Ruby Inez Stone, wife of Buford Stone, of Alabaster and lifetime resident of Shelby County passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born Feb. 1, 1931. She was 80 years old. Inez retired from Specification Rubber where she worked as a press operator.

Inez was survived by her son, Gary Davis (Kim); three stepchildren, Dexter Stone (Barbara), Cynthia Kirkland and Brenda McCain (Ricky); four of her 10 siblings, Mildred Thigpen, James Davis, Nan McAlpine and Leady Payne; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 from 12:30-1 p.m., and services will begin at 1 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, 750 14th Street, Calera, AL 35040 – 668-0192. Pastor Joe Sizemore of Northside Baptist Church will perform the memorial service. Details have been entrusted to Charter Funeral Home.
