The Kingwood Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Knoxville Christian (Tenn.) 73-56 in high school basketball action Jan. 27.

Tyler Harrell led the Lions (9-13) with 16 points in the victory. Harrell also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Daniel Fillingim also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Vance and Jacob Bussey added 10 points each.

Andrew Whitfield chipped in five points. Josh Purvis, Jared Stewart and Dalton Sparks contributed four points each.

Charles Robinson, Tyler Capps, Seth Key and Logan Bean finished with two points each.

GIRLS

The Kingwood Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated Knoxville Christian (Tenn.) 38-31 in high school basketball action Jan. 27.

Madelyn Pearce led the Lions (8-14) with 13 points in the victory. Pearce also grabbed four rebounds in the win.

Blair Holsombeck added 12 points and 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Casey Whitmer chipped in seven points and a team-high 16 rebounds in the win.

Kenzie Greer finished with four points and eight rebounds. Kalee Sides contributed two points.

Karley Chamblee finished with four rebounds. Sarah Salmon and Shania Cid contributed three rebounds each.
