The Evangel Christian School girls’ basketball team jumped out to a commanding first quarter lead and never looked back, beating Georgia/Alabama Christian School 71-4 on Jan. 30.

The Lightning won their 12th consecutive game to improve to 13-1 on the season, including a 10-0 mark in the Alabama Christian Sports Conference.

Lacey Entrekin scored 10 points in the opening quarter and Rainey Ketcham added eight points to help the Lightning jump out to a 27-2 lead.

Ketcham finished with a game-high 22 points. Ketcham also had 10 rebounds and six steals.   Entrekin had 19 points.

Madison Thames finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.  Bethany Letson also pitched in with nine points. Whitney Thorpe led the Lightning defense with 17 steals.

BOYS

The Evangel Christian School boys’ basketball team defeated Georgia/Alabama Christian School 82-33 in high school basketball action Jan. 30.

Adam Gurley led the Lightning (18-0) with a game-high 19 points in the victory.

Aaron Walker added 18 points. DaJon Towns chipped in 12 points. Ben Smith contributed 10 points in the win.
