Acy Bearden, age 77, a resident of Shelby, died on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard Brasher and Rev. Joel Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. Mr. Bearden is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Mr. Bearden is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bearden; sons, Curtis Lee Bearden and Bobby Ray Bearden; and 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Allen Bearden, Leta Goolsby (Wesley) and Brian Bearden (Kristi); grandchildren, Felicia, Katelyn, Karlee and Sophia Marie; great-grandchildren, Monica, Marie and Michael; and other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
