Jean Shaw Muse, age 83, of Wilsonville went to be with her Heavenly Father, Feb. 4, 2012, while surrounded by family in her Fourmile home. She was born March 25, 1928 in the Fourmile community.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Fourmile Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Jones and Rev. Roger Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Fourmile Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Muse was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of Fourmile Baptist Church. At the age of 14 she accepted Jesus as her Savior and began her commitment to following the Lord. She was well known for her love of children and served for many years teaching pre-school Sunday school at Fourmile Baptist.

She was a 1946 alumni of Shelby County High School. She served her family and was a homemaker for her husband and children. Mrs. Muse’s sweet spirit and smiling face greeted many members of the community while working at Davis Drug Store in Columbiana.

She is survived by two children, daughter Judy Ingram and husband John, and son Tony Muse and wife Myra, both of Fourmile. She was grandmother to Tracy Bentley (Jamie), Christy Dornon (Billy), Melissa Roper (Adam), Amy Seay (Daniel), Jonathan Muse (Traci), and great-grandmother to Jamison Bentley, Hunter and Haven Partridge, John Adam Roper and Caroline and Annalise Seay. Mrs. Muse also left behind two brothers, Leonard and Wayne Shaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Muse. Mrs. Muse had a great love for her family, friends and the Lord and demonstrated this love in her care and concern for others. Her kind heart and giving spirit created many memories with her family and friends. Mrs. Muse left behind a legacy of love to her family and faithfulness to the Lord and will be missed by many.
