Panthers sweep Hartselle in doubleheader

The Pelham High School baseball team swept Hartselle in an opening day doubleheader Feb. 20.

Pelham defeated Hartselle 5-0 in the opener.

Thomas Lowery and Hunter Soleymani led the Panthers (2-0) with two hits each. Lowery also drove in three runs in the victory.

Soleymani earned the win on the mound after giving up just one hit with nine strikeouts and three walks in six innings. Chase Brashier struck out one batter in one inning in relief.

The Panthers also topped Hartselle 5-0 in the nightcap.

Michael Herring led Pelham as he drove in three runs in the victory.

Parker Curry picked up the win on the mound after giving up six hits with nine strikeouts in six innings on the mound.
