The Thompson High School baseball team defeated Vestavia Hills 6-4 in high school baseball action Feb. 21.

Trey Matherson led the Warriors at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Andrew Smith went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Houston Davenport finished 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Josh O’Shields finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs.

Hunter Rigney earned the win on the mound after giving up just one earned run on two hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in four innings.

Jake Bywalski gave up three earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts and three walks in two innings. Andrew Smith struck out one batter in the final inning.
