The Shelby County High School baseball team edged Montevallo 5-4 in high school baseball action Feb. 22.

Josh Pennington and Eric Wilcox led the Wildcats at the plate after finishing 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs each.

Ty Proctor earned the win on the mound after giving up three hits without allowing a run in three innings. Proctor finished with three strikeouts and two walks.

David Shirah led Montevallo at the plate as he went 2-for-4 and drove in a run.

Eric Smith finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a stolen base.

Jonathan Pintora took the loss on the mound after giving up five runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.
