Spain Park swept in tripleheader

Spain Park High School, playing without injured shortstop Mikey White, dropped a baseball tripleheader Feb. 25.

The Jaguars fell to Oxford 5-0.

Paul Angel, Grant Veteto and Colton Freeman led Spain Park with one hit each.

Hunter Hall took the loss after giving up five runs, including two earned runs, on seven hits with five strikeouts in five innings. Davis Kennington allowed one hit and struck out one batter in one inning in relief.

Spain Park fell to Cullman 5-3.

Grant Veteto and Brandon Marley led the Jaguars with two hits each. Veteto finished 2-for-4 with a double, while Marley went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in one run.

Colton Freeman finished 1-for-3 with a double and drove in one run. Josh Close and Hall added one hit each.

Josh Rich started on the mound and gave up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

Freeman took the loss after giving up four earned runs on one hit with six walks and two strikeouts in 2/3 of an inning. Max Goldsmith recorded the final out.

The Jaguars fell to Huntsville 3-0.

Freeman led Spain Park at the plate as he went 2-for-3.

Hall finished 1-for-3 with a double. Close and Angel added one hit each.

John Crawford took the loss after giving up three runs, including two earned runs, on four hits with two strikeouts in three innings.

Dustin Cowart gave up two hits and struck out two batters in two scoreless innings in relief. Goldsmith allowed one hit in the final inning.
