Eagles edge Panthers in tennis match

The Oak Mountain High School girls’ tennis team edged Pelham 5-4 in high school tennis action Feb. 27.
The Eagles won three singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Pelham.
Jessica Amaro of Oak Mountain defeated Sidney Garner of Pelham 8-4 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Anna Manning of Oak Mountain defeated Brooke Cole of Pelham 8-2 in the No. 4 singles’ match.
Eunyoung Jo of Oak Mountain defeated Elizabeth Hartzog of Pelham 8-6 in the No. 6 singles’ match.
Amaro and Samantha Frederick of Oak Mountain defeated Garner and Katie Kema of Pelham 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Manning and Mary Catherine Touliatos of Oak Mountain defeated Cole and Sarah Beth Dolinger of Pelham by forfeit in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
Pelham won three singles’ match and one doubles’ match against Oak Mountain.
Dolinger defeated Frederick 8-5 in the No. 2 singles’ match. Kema defeated Touliatos 8-1 in the No. 3 singles’ match.
Whitney Hamner of Pelham defeated Laurel Reeves of Oak Mountain 7-7 (7-5) in the No. 5 singles’ match.
Hamner and Hartzog defeated Reeves and Jo 7-7 (11-9) in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
