South Shelby County is made up of many municipalities and unincorporated areas that offer wonderful benefits when we are talking quality of life!

When it comes to raising a family, running a small business or retiring in a safe community with many activities, South Shelby County is the place to be!

Bedroom communities, as most would refer to them, have close-knit features and conveniences such as the grocery store, doctor’s office, drug store, eateries, local unique shops, community civic and arts and cultural activities and senior centers, to name a few.

Another benefit is that you truly get to know the folks in your area where you live, work and play.

Saving money by not driving as far to your destinations, being able to commute by walking, riding bikes or driving short distances increases your time in your day, week, etc., turning time into money.

Working at the chamber office, we have seen a lot of grandparents move into our area to be nearer to their children who are now raising children of their own.

We have seen folks retire to our areas to live near or on Lay Lake.

Lay Lake offers many recreational activities such as fishing, boating and a wonderful view of peace and tranquility.

Our chamber just completed a new magazine that highlights our communities, our chamber members, and the many attractions our area offer, and the magazine is free of charge!

The magazine includes the new museum trail, articles about the benefits you receive as a resident of South Shelby County!

After all the reason our communities prosper and grow as they conserve their hometown feel is truly because of you the people of South Shelby County!
