Hornets win two games in tournament

The Chelsea High School softball team won two games March 3 in the Spain Park tournament.
Chelsea edge defending Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A champion Dothan 2-1 in the tournament.
Caitlin Bice and Amanda Mock led the Hornets at the plate as each went 1-for-2 and drove in one run.
Joslyn Johnston finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Kacie Craft and Jordan Gray scored one run each in the victory.
Bice earned the win in the circle after giving up just one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts in a complete-game victory.
The Hornets topped Corner 10-2 in the tournament.
Allie Luster led Chelsea at the plate as she went 2-for-3. Luster drove in three runs and scored one run in the win.
Johnston, who drove in one run and scored two runs, went 2-for-3 at the plate. Alex Osborn, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 as well.
Bice, who drove in one run and scored three runs, finished 1-for-1 at the plate. Mock went 1-for-1 and scored a run. Meagan Lanzi scored one run in the win.

The Hornets fell to Oak Mountain 4-3 in the tournament.
Luster, Jones and Craft led Chelsea with one hit each in the victory.

Craft started in the circle and allowed three earned runs on four hits with a strikeout in one inning. Osborn gave up one earned run on three hits with a strikeout and two walks in six innings in relief.
